Publishing Internship: This intern would work closely with the publisher to develop our books and revisions. Responsibilities would include reading manuscripts, finding and securing reviewers, interpreting their comments and making suggestions for improvement. A successful candidate should have an excellent eye for detail; enjoy reading and putting forth comments in a creative and innovative way. This is a great internship for someone interested in journalism, writing or magazine editing. Liberal arts majors in journalism, English, psychology and sociology are preferred.
Marketing Internship: This intern will be responsible for marketing and promoting LifeBound’s services. There will be a fair amount of live, in-person sales opportunities with some of our clients if the intern displays competence towards sales. The intern will run direct mail campaigns, create brochures, slide shows and work directly with Carol Carter’s publicist in Chicago. A successful candidate should have highly developed interpersonal skills, creativity and attention to detail.
Publicity Internship: This intern would work closely with Carol Carter’s publicist to secure print, TV and radio interviews. Responsibilities would include preparing a publicity package with the publicist, faxing stations and booking events. This intern would also be able to represent the company at national and regional events if the timing works out. An intern should have a strong interest in learning all parts of marketing and sales. Ideally, we would have the intern input on marketing campaigns and other sales activities to give him or her practical experience.
Editorial Internship: This intern should have strong writing, editing and creative thinking skills. A successful candidate should be self-directed, inquisitive and willing to learn. This is an incredible opportunity for someone seriously considering a career in publishing, writing or editorial work.
Additional Internships are Available in Design, Sales and Market Research
