Timothy O’Malley


Timothy O’Malley has been a member of Indiana University since 2011. He began in the IUPUI Honors College as an assistant director. In fall 2014, Tim joined University Academic Affairs as the Operations Manager for the Office of Completion and Student Success (OCSS) where he works with faculty, staff, and students from across IU to support student success initiatives, student data integrity, and user access; deliver professional/organizational development and training; and promote the utilization and expansion of enterprise-level technologies.


Before joining IU, Tim worked in housing administration and residence life roles at a variety of institutions. Tim holds a BS degree in mathematics and sociology from Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan and a MA degree in student affairs administration from Michigan State University. He is currently a PhD Candidate in higher education and student affairs with an additional graduate certificate in institutional research, both from Indiana University where his research interests include assessment of student learning, organizational development, program evaluation, and LGBTQ student success and identity development.


Tim is originally from “The Thumb” area of Michigan, and enjoys going out to new restaurants and catching the latest movies with his partner, Charles.
